The formula is non-metallic and copper-free. That matters because copper-based algaecides can leave staining on plaster, vinyl, fiberglass, and pond rockwork, especially in water with imbalanced chemistry. This formula helps control algae without contributing to the metallic buildup that causes those staining issues.

For pools, it helps control common algae types including green, mustard, and black when used as directed. Black algae and established mustard blooms generally need brushing and shocking alongside algaecide for full removal, not algaecide alone.
