This part was built to house and hold the intermediate gear in place next to the cone gear as well as the spindle gear, this allows the spindle gear to transfer the rotating power it receives via the medium turbine, to the intermediate gear which then sends it to the cone gear that turns the cleaner in a left or right direction so that way it can cover the entire surface of the pool. The shaft is metallic and small so that way it can fit into the fixed slot that rests on the upper middle body.
