The formula is built on sodium thiosulfate, a well-known chlorine neutralizing agent. It dissolves through circulating water and works as part of your regular maintenance routine when readings push past the level you want. As a rough guide, 1 oz reduces chlorine by about 1 ppm per 10,000 gallons, so you can size your dose off a quick test instead of guessing.
